The arnica

Arnica montana

Arnica is a rather common plant species in the Alps, where it grows at rather low altitudes but also up to 2500m above sea level. In general, it prefers pastures and dry meadows with acid soils. Its flowering period varies with altitude, ranging from June at lower levels to August on high-lying grasslands.
